16. back from the clinic

1993 Aug 2 - 6 PM

The idiots were still hitting my garage door when I left. Really freaky when I turned the car on and they started chasing me. At least I led them out of my street...

The clinic was a five-minute drive away. Everything is worse than before. Before it was totally empty. Now it's chaos. There's dead bodies in the street, I saw one that looked like an animal had eaten away at it.

House alarms are going off overwhere, I think a few are on fire in the neighborhood and there's enough smoke around to make even more go off. Also, there's burglar alarms at the shops that are going crazy. They sound even worse, some of them are these fast bells that sound really shrill.

I got to the medical clinic, and it looked like a tornado had gone through. There were cars just left here, like people drove themselves here and then died.

I parked right on the sidewalk. There's no rules anymore. I kept a low profile and tried my best to be inconspicuous. Whenever one of the rotters walked by, I stood still and didn't hardly even breathe. They don't really attack if you're not making yourself out to be a threat.

I went into the clinic through a side door, which put me behind the counter.

There were trails of blood, probably by some dead body dragging itself around. I could hear them knocking stuff over in one of the rooms. When I went closer, it looked like there were about seven people hunched over something on the ground.

I found where the clinic kept the pain drugs. I really don't know what I grabbed, but I recognize the word codeine. I don't know the proper amount so I've just taken a little spoon of it.. It's already helping.

Nobody's banging on the garage door anymore. At last I can relax and sleep..
